The Girls

We made a trip to visit our favorite feline today, Sophie (my Mom and Dad's cat). The girls were having so much fun playing with the cat, that they were even willing to let me take a few pictures...

As you can tell, Miss Frances is still very much into Minnie Mouse! And Kathryn was very much into Sophie! Although, Sophie was not that into her!

Off We Go...

...to the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, FL!

Last Saturday, Matt, the kiddos and I loaded up and headed east for a day exploring the National Naval Aviation Museum. This FREE museum came with rave reviews from family and friends, so we have had it on our list of "things to do" for a while now.

While Matt and I could have spent hours looking at the exhibits, the children had a blast playing in the indoor playground. We would play on the playground a while, look at some exhibits, go back to the play area, etc. etc. There were also lots of opportunities throughout the museum for climbing in cockpits, another favorite of our kids. Wish I had better pictures, but I think you can tell the museum was a hit!

If you are ever in the Lower Alabama/Upper Florida region, I highly suggest the National Naval Aviation Museum. It was a perfect fit for the entire family!!!

Across the Bay

While the kids were out of school last week, we ventured over to Fairhope for the day. The first pic is of the kiddos outside the library. Unfortunately, the library didn't open until 1:00 that day, so we opted for the park!

This little one doesn't sit still very long for pictures!

After the park, we headed for the Windmill Market for some lunch at Mary Ann's. We dined on Shirley and Maiben specials (they were just as good as they've ever been!) and then made our way next door to Westside Grocery for some Pretty Perfect Pimento Cheese to take home!

It was a great little get away!

A New Do

for Little Miss Frances! She was starting to sport the business in the front/party in the back look, so we decided it was time!

At first, she looked like she was going to enjoy her first hair cut. Sucker in hand, she was ready!

It didn't taker her long to start realizing she wasn't a big fan of the chair and the drape...

Needless to say, the haircut ended in tears, but the mission was completed! Hopefully, we won't have to go back for a good while!

Kind of reminded me of another little girl, in the same chair about four years ago! See any resemblance?

What A Week!

Last week, that is! You know it's been a busy week when it takes me a whole week to recover and blog about it!

To begin, here's Frances snuggled up with her Minnie pillow pet (a gift from Nana and Papa) wearing her Minnie jacket (a Target purchase that I hoped would put a stop to wearing her Minnie pj's in public, which she's been known to do!).

Kathryn's class Valentine's party...Walker of course had one too, it's just I signed up to help with Kathryn's class (one of the dilemmas of having the twins in separate classrooms). Icing and decorating cookies were on the party agenda. Kathryn's turned out quite nice (and yummy too! She's not a sweets girl, so she graciously shared her cookie with me!).

Of course, Wednesday was the big parade! Enough said about that craziness!

On Thursday, Scotcheroos...yummy, yummy and yummy! I made these for my Bible study girls who came to my house for a fellowship. Recipe to follow!

On Friday, we headed to Birmingham to celebrate Addison's second birthday. Aunt Mak didn't disappoint in her party planning. Everything was perfect from the food to the flowers to the fun Olivia inspired decorations! I don't know what it says about me that I took pictures of the food table and not of the birthday girl! I can guarantee you she looked even more sweet!

We also had time to play with cousins Daniel and Beau. Again, no pictures. I blame it on this little lady below...

She is quite active this days and doesn't leave her mommy any free hands for taking pictures:) Here she's taking her friend Miles on a ride! We finished the weekend at Valerie's house, letting the kiddos play while we visited. I also finally got to love on my friend Carrie's sweet twin girls for the first time!

Needless to say, we came home exhausted but quite content with all of the family and friends we were able to enjoy on our visit! All I can say is thank goodness the kids have been out of school this week. We've all needed this time to recover!!

Scotcheroos

1 cup peanut butter
1 cup karo syrup
1 cup sugar
6 cups rice krispies
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips

Melt peanut butter, sugar and karo syrup over low/med heat until sugar is dissolved. Add in rice krispies stirring to coat. Pour mixture into a greased 9 x 13 dish.

In separate microwaveable bowl, melt chocolate chips and butterscotch chips in microwave. Pour chocolate mixture on top of rice krispies mixture. Place in refrigerator until chocolate hardens. Cut into squares and enjoy!

Laissez Les Bons Temps Roulez!

Today was the much anticipated school Mardi Gras parade. Matt did a stellar job on Walker's "Outer Space" rocket ship float (the pun was most definitely intended)!!! And Walker did a great job walking, balancing his float and throwing candy and trinkets all at the same time. Now that's talent!

Kathryn was a member of the band. She and her classmates led the processional. She was fabulous!
Let the parade begin!!! Here are a few floats from Walker's class...

Miss Kathryn marching and beating her drum. So cute!

Look at the concentration on that face:)

Dolphin throws for the dolphin queen (for those of you who don't know, Kathryn LOVES dolphins)...

Little Miss enjoying her parade candy!

Wild West Day

Today was Wild West Day at school. Hotdogs and s'mores along with some pony rides and lassoing cows added to the fun (ponies and cows were all pretend mind you)...One of the many reasons we love our school! There is always something fun and engaging going on!
