This Week's Wally World Finds

Today, we took our weekly pilgrimage to the local Wal Mart. Now that my kiddos refuse to sit in a buggy, this is truly an adventure. Although, after we've walked around the store once and sometimes twice, the kids are well worn out!

Plus we scored these great finds....

Boy's Cargo Shorts.....$3.50! There were food items in my buggy that cost more than $3.50. I'm just praying the 5T will fit Walker. They look big enough. I will be so sad the day these two outgrow Garanimals!

They also had some nice solid color polo shirts in the "bigger" boys section. The sizes start at XS (4-5) and go up. They were $6 each (I believe...maybe less but no more). They had a large variety of colors, but unfortunately I stocked up for Walker last year, and the only colors I really needed were not available in his size (namely an adorable coral color and a very guy-like turquoise blue--two of my favorite summer colors!).

On a sad note, their bigger boy solid t-shirts have a pocket on the front which interferes with monograms or appliques, but they are still great for everyday wear. The best I can remember (which is hard to do when I've got one eye on my kids and the other on the merchandise), the toddler t-shirts did not have a pocket! So buy up, girls!

For the girls, the Garanimals offerings were looking a little "hoochie mama" for me, but I did find this cute outfit for Kathryn in the bigger girls section. It's a size 6, so I think it must run a little small, or either the pants/shirt are supposed to fit shorter than they do on her.

This little outfit came in several cute colors: lavender, green and this fun coral. I thought for $6.00 this would be perfect for the Spring when it's too cool for shorts but too warm for winter clothes!

P.S. Forgive the awful quality of this picture. I had to grab it with my phone while I could. Hopefully, I'll be able to get a better one later! She also has all of her hair ribbons crammed into the two side pockets and appears to be sticking her belly out!

And here's Walker once we got home....See I told you a walk around Wally World will wear them out! You should take your little ones there and scout out your own summer finds. At these prices, they won't last forever!!

Rainy Day Project

Kathryn collected a bunch of sweet gum seed pods at the park last week, and I promised her we would turn them into a craft project. Well, maybe I should have done a bit of internet research instead of just relying on my own experiences. All I could remember to do with them is spray them with glue and sprinkle glitter on them!

Easy enough, but very Christmas-like. Especially since the glitter collection at the Dollar Store featured red, green and silver!!

(BTW, I get just about all of their craft supplies at the Dollar Store. It's great for construction paper, writing pads, pens, pencils, glue sticks, pipe cleaner, and as mentioned glitter! And at a dollar an item, we can get a lot for a little. They also have some pretty helpful workbooks and flashcards--numbers, letters, spelling, and even more advanced--featuring characters kids just can't resist. Which always makes learning a little more fun! If you haven't been in a while check out the school supply and the craft supply aisles.)

Here's the little princess at work!

And afterwards, enjoying the fruits of her labor!

On a side note, the growing out aspect of Kathryn's self-imposed "haircut" is a lot worse than the initial cutting. As you can see in these pictures, she appears to have hair growing in every direction! And the "bangs" are out of control:)

A Special Delivery

Pops had a meeting in Birmingham today, so he and Tula decided to surprise us with a special treat all the way from Mobile.

That's right...King Cake, in all it's yummy goodness! Complete with beads and the tiny little baby. The baby didn't make it into the cake. It went directly into the hands of Little Miss Kathryn, who personally makes herself responsible for all things "baby" in this house!

I took these pictures with my iphone, because you see it takes less time than with the camera, and the sooner I took the pictures the sooner I could eat the cake! And let me assure you it is delicious!! Want to try it for yourself? Well, just click here, and order you up one!

In other news, I took Goofy, Mickey and Minnie to the park today (i.e. Daniel, Walker and Kathryn). They have so much fun playing together, and if they aren't in these character roles, they are someone or something else. It's really quite amusing and oh so sweet to see these cousins playing so well together!

I hope your day was as beautiful and yummy as ours:)

Run Well Finish Strong

Have a mentioned how much I love Jean Stockdale and her ministry? I sat under Jean for three years while in Memphis and was challenged to go deeper in my walk with the Lord than I ever have in my life (and at a time in my life when I didn't have much time for anything other than taking care of babies!!).

That is why I am thrilled that Jean now offers her Bible study online, so you too can participate and be challenged in your walk with the Lord and in your role as a godly wife and mother. Will you join me as we study 11 Timothy? I completed this study several years ago, and I can promise you will not be disappointed!

Here is the blog where the Bible study will take place!

And you can order your workbook here!

You also have the privilege of listening to Jean each week here!

The first week's study begins on Wednesday, February 3rd, but it's never to late to join in!

I want to run well and finish strong. Don't you? You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll be challenged, you'll be encouraged. So don't be left out! Join us in this wonderful study!

Have You Heard of Froggy?

Kathryn and Walker have, and they love him! These books are by Jonathan London, and you are sure to find a title that your little one will love. There's Froggy Plays in the Band for your little musician, Froggy Bakes a Cake for your little chef, and Froggy Plays Soccer for your little athelete. See what I mean! There's a froggy for everybody!

These are few of my two's favorites...

Shhh....don't tell, but I just ordered this one for Valentine's Day!

Check out Froggy at your local library. Your little ones will love him!

Never Say Never

So, how did we go from this.... to this in only a matter of minutes???

I briefly left Kathryn alone with her scissors and workbook the other day while I quickly tended to Walker. She was still in eye sight, but some how I missed her cutting half her hair off! I honestly thought my child would "never" do such a thing. Think again!

Fortunately for Little Miss, she left one large section of curly locks in the front that mask the large portion of hair she cut away. Now, when I pull her hair back in a bow, it's almost like she has bangs. Maybe she knew what she was doing:)
