Two fabulous children. Two fabulous years.

Walker and Kathryn turn two on Saturday. My how time flies! They are both such special blessings to their Mommy and Daddy. I have been taking notes over the last few weeks trying to capture their sweet little personalities. I hope you enjoy these glimpses into each of their little worlds! Ladies first...

Kathryn

  • Favorite color is pink with purple running a very close second
  • FINALLY has the most adorable curly hair
  • Loves picking out her clothes and telling me what animal or various other object is on her clothes and her brothers
  • Loves to play dress up
  • Loves to dance with her mommy during the opening Dora the Explorer song
  • Likes to read books
  • Enjoys playing with stickers
  • LOVES her Daddy
  • Much like her mother, she is obsessed with cheese and Mexican food
  • Likes to sing (our favorite place to sing is outside while she and Walker swing)
  • Likes to keep her brother in line and take care of him
  • Loves her brother very much
  • Loves her Quack Quack and Diego stocking
  • Appreciates anything monogrammed (definitely her mother's child!)...she calls it ABC's (i.e. "my ABC blanket or my ABC shirt")
  • Likes to be a "big" girl
  • She's my daring little risk taker
  • Doesn't like going to bed but much like Daddy she likes to sleep in (well at least longer than brother...if 6:30 is sleeping in!!)
  • Turns bright red after just minutes of playing outside
  • Enjoys swimming in her pool
  • Likes to help mommy clean

Walker

  • He's a finger sucker (first two fingers on his right hand)
  • Which means, he's a south paw like his dad
  • Favorite color is blue
  • Favorite number is 9
  • Enjoys eating and pretending to eat popsicles (he has a collection of old popsicle boxes he pretends with!)
  • Loves Dora (aka De De De) and Boots and watching tv in general
  • Enjoys music
  • LOVES duck blanket
  • Favorite thing to do is color with his crayons or chalk
  • Likes to gather up his blanket, pillows and duck every morning before getting out of bed
  • Likes to slide
  • Enjoys playing in his pool
  • LOVES to swing...his all time favorite. He closes his eyes and falls asleep every single time
  • LOVES his Sissy
  • Likes to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Row Row Row Your Boat
  • Very careful and not much of a risk taker
  • Wakes up early in the morning...normally around 6:00 a.m. and as of recently likes to catch a quick cat nap mid morning
  • Much like his mommy, he really enjoys sweets
  • Even though he isn't supposed to do it, he likes to sneak in the laundry room and fill the cat's water bowl up with cat food!

So, what exactly is a decapus?

Last Thursday was a VERY slow day, so I pulled out the summer craft ideas I picked up from this very crafty lady's blog. As we began to make the handprint octopus, I realized that a difficult decision was about to be made....should I use the entire handprint and ignore the fact that the octopus would have 10 arms instead of 8 or should I (as my husband suggested) "cut off some fingers" on the handprint (can you tell the man operates for a living??). Well, what mother could tamper with a precious little handprint. I prayed for nine months that all 1o of those fingers would grow and develop perfectly according to God's plan, I wasn't about to do away with 2 of them! So, here you go, the moment you've all been waiting for.......

The DECAPUS!
We also made jellyfish out of paper plates and crepe paper! I thought they turned out so cute and no fingers were compromised in the process.

Want to be blessed?

I have been following this precious blogger, Kelly, since voting her my personal favorite in Big Mama's Fashion Fiesta this past spring. She is cute, fun and has a sweet heart for Jesus. I thought you would enjoy reading her testimony in this recent post. Read and be blessed!

Tuesday Play Group

By now, you all know I am not the best photographer. But I couldn't resist taking pictures of all the sweet little ones gathered at our house today for our Tuesday Play Group. Thanks, Tracy, Ashley and Amy Lauren for spending the day with us!! P.S. I'm not all that great at captions either:)

Sissy before the play date was even over. I think she was worn out from the beginning!

Also, I wanted everyone to see the adorable Seseme Street cupcakes the kiddos enjoyed at last week's play date thanks to Caitlyn's sweet idea to honor the June birthdays. If you are in the Memphis area, you'll have to check out Uptown Sweets.

APPLE CORN (also known as the pineapple)

I did find a yummy recipe for Apple Corn Muffins. Check it out! I just may have to make Kathryn some of these!

Fun at Dauphin Island

Walker and Kathryn had fun playing in their kiddie pools at Dauphin Island. They especially had fun staying well hydrated drinking Pop's Gatorade!
