An Eggstra Special Activity

I really love Easter. It's honestly one of my most favorite times of year. I've had some withdrawals though this season because all of my Easter decorations are packed away in Mobile. I decided a quick solution to that problem would be to put my little helpers to work making Easter eggs. They were very happy to oblige!

Of course, this took a lot of patience on my part as they were constantly wanting to hold the cups filled with dye or stick their hands in the cups or hold the eggs. It was worth it to see the final results and most of all how happy they were with their eggs!

So one Princess and one Cars dying kit, a dozen hard boiled eggs, some water and some vinegar later and here's the final result!

Let's Go Fly A Kite

Papa stopped by today after returning from a visit with Cousins Mimi and Devon in D.C. While there, he was able to go with them to the Kite Festival on the Mall. He was kind enough to bring kites to Walker and Kathryn so they too could join in on the fun!

In case you can't tell, the kites were a huge hit! Thanks, Papa, for such a fun-filled Sunday afternoon!

Gotta Love Target

I've been in need of some new shoes for quite a while. I narrowed my search to ballet flats, something to get from the boots of winter to the flip flops of spring and summer. I really liked these from J. Crew...

And I really, really loved these from Sundance...

Margot Ballet Flats

But then I spotted these on a lady at our Dora encounter last week and thought they looked really cute! Thankfully, I had already spotted them and knew where to get them. I just needed to see them on someone else to see how cute they really were. So, the next day, we headed to none other than Target!
Odell Flower Ballet Flat

I also purchased a floral variation of this shoes just for good measure! They were each $12.99! Odell Ballet Flat

They really do have some of the cutest things at Target. Like the new Liberty of London label. Their florals are absolutely adorable! Like on these rain boots, although I hope our rainy days are coming to an end, and this cute shopper!

In other Target news, during my third trip in about five days, I realized that they also carry OPI and Essie fingernail polishes (although this probably isn't at every store). Like I said, you gotta love Target!

A Little Dose of Reality

Kathryn isn't much of a baby doll person. Don't get me wrong, much like me as a child, she loves her stuffed animals and any other random looking thing. I just mean she really has never carried a true baby doll around claiming to be its mother.

That was Kathryn then, this is Kathryn now. She has a bad case of baby phobia! I'm sure it has something to do with her two new cousins and her mother's expanding belly. So queu "her" Baby Addison, not to be confused with the real thing!

She brought her baby in the car today, and conveniently left it in her booster seat while she was at school. As I ran around town today, I would catch a glimpse of this everytime I looked in the back seat.

Quite honestly at first it just plained scared me, but then it reminded me to get ready! In just a few short months, there will be a real little one in that back seat*, and I just can't wait to meet him or her!

*Don't worry, we'll splurge and buy the new baby a proper carseat (and actually strap it it)! Maybe like this kiwi colored option!

Sweet Baby Addison

Look who came to see us yesterday! That's right Baby Addison! This was Walker and Kathryn's first time to meet their new cousin. In fact, they were still a bit confused as to whether or not she would still be in Aunt Mak's tummy. So, you can imagine their surprise when this came through our door!!

Addison was ready for some sleep, but my two weren't about to leave her alone. Here's Kathryn giving her kisses.

And the one thing they'd been waiting for all day long....a chance to hold the baby!

Kathryn explaining to us that babies poop in their pants!

I know Kathryn felt like such a big girl!

And as sweet as it was to see Kathryn holding Addison, it was even more precious to see Walker with her. Something about a guy and a baby!

I think his face says it all! This little visitor made our week. The perfect end to our Spring Break!

Exploring with Dora

Hope all of you are having a great Spring Break! We took our Spring Break a bit early and traveled to Mobile and New Orleans last week, thus the reason for my blog slacking the last few weeks!

This week, we've spent our time playing at the park with Cousin Daniel and just enjoying some down time!!! I thought our time away from school would make the week creep by, but it's already Thursday, and I find myself wishing we had a few more days!
This afternoon, we visited the McWane Center so Walker and Kathryn could see one of their favorite people...

The lines were long and the majority of the kids there were just as wild and crazy as mine, but it was worth the time and the effort! Thank goodness Matt was off of work and able to go with me. I never would have survived on my own!

P is for Pajama

and for pillow, popcorn and Peter Pan!

This is how Kathryn and Walker celebrated the letter "P" at school yesterday! Here's some snapshots on the way out the door!

Can You Tell It's Resale?

Most of you know I'm a big Ebay fan, but I've rarely bought from a resale shop or a consignment sale. This past week, I ventured out and found some great deals at local stores/sales. See what you think...

A smocked Amanda Remembered bishop dress for Kathryn....$15! I couldn't find anything that cheap on Ebay! And I just love the colors! I took a gamble on the size 5. I really thought it would be too long, but thanks to my growing girl, it fits just perfectly!

And then I found these finds for Baby Buzz. I mostly bought them because they were neutral colors, but secondly they were great brands at great prices!!

Mela Wilson Beehive Gown...$8 (Thanks Val for scouting this one out!!)
Kissy Kissy Onepiece...$16
Paty Inc. Diaper Set...$12

And the best part is all three look to be in perfect condition!

So, don't be afraid of buying second hand. You can find some great deals out there! Want a place to start? Try this website (they also have new items, "samples," at some great prices!). And don't forget to let me know what you find!

Carolina On My Mind

This past weekend, I had the privilege of traveling to North Carolina to see sweet Baby Addison for the first time! I got to do a ton of this...

holding this precious angel!! She really is a great baby. She only cries if she's hungry, having her clothes changed or being bathed. And I just couldn't get enough of her! It was the best birthday present I could imagine!

You'll have to check out her photo shoot here (picture #64 will take your breath away)! She's got some pretty good looking parents too, if I do say so myself!!
