Island Baby

We headed south to Dauphin Island this weekend to soak up some of the beautiful sunny weather!

In a never ending effort to exhaust some of the big kids energy, Matt took them swimming and to the beach for several hours. Of course, they were tired when they got back, but a quick nap later and they were recharged and ready to go again!

Enter bike rides, boat rides and an additional trip to the beach! Needless to say, I think everyone slept well Saturday night. Especially Matt!

This is what I did while they "played." Took pictures of this little island baby...
I fell in love with this little sun bonnet and just "had" to get the matching bubble! I'm so glad I did!

May The Force Be With You

While Kathryn and Walker were napping the other day, I let Frances play with Walker's light saber. It entertained her for quite a while. Now, if her brother had seen her, there might have been trouble! But I just couldn't resist!

And meet the newest member of our family....YODA! This was the kids' gift to Matt on Valentine's Day. He travels all around the house a la the Elf on the Shelf. You never know where he might turn up next! He's kind of scary if you ask me, but the kids love him! And they are convinced Matt does too:)

Look Alike

Couldn't help but see a little resemblance between Frances and her big brother! What do you think?

A Sweet Week

It's not very often, we get to start and end a week on such a sweet note, but last week was just extra special!

The Sunday before Valentine's Day, our good friend Katie-Ruth held a special Valentine's party for her friends. The little ones enjoyed fun crafts and lots of yummy sweets!

Don't let Kathryn fool you. She may look intent on placing stickers on her Valentine's in this picture....

...but I think, decorating her own cupcake was her most favorite part!

I know it was Walker's favorite! In case you can't translate that face, it's "hurry up and take the picture, so I can eat please!!!!"

We ended the week at a birthday party for the sweetest little one year old you ever did see--Addison (aka Addi Girl). Aunt Mak completely out did herself. My pictures won't even do it justice, so you'll just have to keep checking her blog as I'm sure there's a party post in the making. I did manage a few snapshots of the festivities....

And the sweetest part of the whole week...The Birthday Girl!

Celebrate Good Times

Last Friday, Walker and Kathryn celebrated "100 Days of School" with a shoe box float parade.

We completed their floats several weeks ago (leaving way too much time for the kids to play with them and show them to anyone who stepped foot in our house), so I was just glad to get the floats to school in one piece. Never mind that I was hot gluing stickers and beads as we were walking out the door that morning!

There was music, candy, and lots of smiles!

On Saturday, we managed to make it to a "real" parade. Here's Walker patiently waiting for it to start.

And the parade is off!

Lots of beads, moon pies, candy, a black cat, and a Care Bear (Yes, I said Care Bear. I guess that goes to show you can catch anything at a Mardi Gras parade) later, the kids deemed the parade a success!

My Funny Valentines + An Anniversary

You don't even want to know how hard I had to try to get this photo. I guess in hind sight it was worth it. They are pretty cute if I do say so myself!

Oh, and I almost forgot...Can you believe ye ole' Busbee Buzz has been up and running for three years now! WOW! I know I always say, "time sure flies", but TIME.SURE.FLIES.

Check out this post to see how it all started!

Stick a Fork in Me...

...I'm done!

Sorry if the title's a bit crude, but that's how I'm feelin' today. It's been a busy week, and I mean B.U.S.Y.

I'm sure many of you know about these types of weeks, but quite frankly we keep a pretty slow schedule around our house. And I have to say I like it that way!

Judging by these pictures of Frances I took earlier this week, I think she might feel the same way...

Yes, my friends, she's asleep. Standing up. Like I said this isn't our norm, and I'm quite ready to get back to our lazy (although crazy) days.

On another note, THANK YOU for all of the comments regarding the ABC prints for Frances' room. The cards were all so cute, I wasn't surprised so many of you left a response. Just doesn't happen all that often, and it quite made my week!!!

This is the space where I'm thinking of hanging them, although I'm not sure if I'll keep them hanging as shown here (those are the twins' Eric Carle flashcards that are up there now) or if I'll frame them.
The winner is #3! The teacups sold me especially since the fabrics and colors in Frances' room are gender neutral thanks to her brother and sister who had all of this stuff before her. I just thought the teacups with the cute little animals was so feminine, and the pefect addition to her room!

And on another completely different note, here's a random picture I came across when I uploaded the other photos. Our friend Caroline from across the street came over on Saturday, and she snagged this picture with my camera. I only include it in this post in an effort to keep things real, and because this is how I normally look. Well, besides the no make up/fleece and yoga pants look, I'm mostly referring to having a baby on my hip, and I love every minute of it!

I hope everyone has a fun, relaxing weekend!!!

A Few Favorites

I FINALLY got all of the clothes laid out for tomorrow's Alice Kathleen & Company Trunk Show, and I just had to share some of my, I mean, our favorites!

Kathryn's favorite...
My absolute favorite...And the boy version of it...

I think I've already posted this picture, but I am in love with the dress on the right--The "Daisy." And the little shorts set to the left is even cuter in person!

Who could pass up this little chick (there's a guy version of it too!)...
And I love how sweet and simple this little shorts set is. You could even add a monogram to it!

Don't forget to join me this week to see all of these adorable clothes in person and to place an order for your sweet little guys and gals.

Tuesday, February 8
9:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.

Wednesday, February 9
9:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

I would love for all you locals to stop by! So grab a friend and hop on over! You'll be glad you did!

If you don't come for the clothes, come for the Chex Muddy Mix I just made. Otherwise I will have to eat it all myself:)

P.S. If you need my home address, just email me at laurenbusbee@aim.com.

P.S.S. Out of towners, this is an invitation to you too! This line features jon jons, daygowns, diaper sets, bubbles, dresses, skirts, tops, and shorts. If there is a certain item you are interested in, just email me, and I'll be more than happy to send pictures of the options and we can shop from there!

Let's Hear It for the Boys

Big boys...

and little boys...

You want find cuter clothes for the little guy in your life!

Join me for the Alice Kathleen and Company Trunk Show this week. Show times are listed here. Bring a friend and hop on over!

ABC's

Or maybe I should say FEB's.

I'm on a hunt for some additional artwork for Frances' room, so I thought I would turn to my favorite place for those types of things...ETSY!

I narrowed my search down to alphabet cards with her initials. I've already hung some old alphabet cards of the twins up in her room, but they are just a wee bit worn after four years and two kids! I figured Frances deserved her own!

But now I can't decide which ones I like the best. See what I mean...

Option #1 from Sea Urchin Studio

Option #2 from Elissa Hudson

Option #3 Illustration + Paper Goods

I think I know which option I'm leaning towards, but which one is your favorite?
