Thought you would enjoy seeing how her big girl room has come together. Since the twins shared a room until we moved to Mob-town, this was my first opportunity to decorate an all girl room!

And just in case you don't notice, she has a thing for dolphins:) Come on in...

Quick and Easy Midweek Meal

This was on the menu tonight:

Caesar Pasta Salad

Romaine lettuce, chopped
Penne pasta, cooked and cooled
Parmesan cheese
Caesar salad dressing
Caesar salad croutons
Cracked black pepper

Mix pasta and lettuce together. Top with croutons and cheese. Pour on desired amount of dressing. Sprinkle with pepper. Toss all ingredients together and enjoy!

This is a quick, easy and relatively inexpensive meal. Some variations include adding grilled chicken or simply adding pasta to any other favorite salad recipes to turn it into a heartier meal!

What about me?

Somebody else started school this week. She wasn't crazy about getting clothes on and missing Doc McStuffins, but all in all I think she had a great first day!

Oh my! I know I always say time flies, but when I think about sending my "babies" off to kindergarten, I can't stop thinking where did the years go! The only thing that keeps this momma's heart from being too sad is how excited these two were to start school!

In typical Walker fashion, he got up super early. First picture of the day...

Kat Lloyd woke up about 20 minutes later and dined on her breakfast of scrambled eggs and juice!

So what did me and Miss Frances do while they were away??? We tackled Wally World for some groceries, ate lunch, watched cartoons, and once she went down for her nap, I did a little party planning...

Bananas for Banana Bread

Banana Bread is a favorite around our house. While we were without an oven for 2+ months, banana bread (along with slice and bake chocolate chip cookies) was one of the foods we missed making the most. We tried to substitute with Fresh Market banana bread/sweet breads, but although they are good, they simply don't compare to fresh bread right out of the oven! I finally got around to making a few loaves this past weekend using my favorite recipe...

A few reasons why it's my favorite:  I typically have all the ingredients on hand, and it has this "special" ingredient (hence the name "Spiced" Banana Loaf)...

It's subtle, but it really does add a little something! And while we are on the topic of baking and cinnamon, I have a handy household tip for you today...

Let me introduce you to my trusty shakers.

The first holds a mixture of cinnamon and sugar for easy cinnamon toast or cinni-mini's.  The second holds flour for the greasing and flouring part of your baking preparations.  Simply spray or butter your pan then sprinkle on your flour.  Easy peasy! 

Ombré

Love the ombré effect of the hydrangeas in our backyard. Had to bring some inside to enjoy them!

Another One Bites the Dust

Kat Lloyd lost her second tooth today! I was the lucky one who pulled it. Good thing we got it out; the new tooth was already in!
