Rainy Day Project

Kathryn collected a bunch of sweet gum seed pods at the park last week, and I promised her we would turn them into a craft project. Well, maybe I should have done a bit of internet research instead of just relying on my own experiences. All I could remember to do with them is spray them with glue and sprinkle glitter on them!

Easy enough, but very Christmas-like. Especially since the glitter collection at the Dollar Store featured red, green and silver!!

(BTW, I get just about all of their craft supplies at the Dollar Store. It's great for construction paper, writing pads, pens, pencils, glue sticks, pipe cleaner, and as mentioned glitter! And at a dollar an item, we can get a lot for a little. They also have some pretty helpful workbooks and flashcards--numbers, letters, spelling, and even more advanced--featuring characters kids just can't resist. Which always makes learning a little more fun! If you haven't been in a while check out the school supply and the craft supply aisles.)

Here's the little princess at work!

And afterwards, enjoying the fruits of her labor!

On a side note, the growing out aspect of Kathryn's self-imposed "haircut" is a lot worse than the initial cutting. As you can see in these pictures, she appears to have hair growing in every direction! And the "bangs" are out of control:)
